A Great Occurrence Africa Can Never Forget

Once upon a time.
before your own time,
Then; I mean, when you were not born.
we held out our horn
Said the old man:
Something we never had in plan
Then, in which event no one fled
The old man said!
But shivering was all our head
the young old man again said
Lo! old man what a brave and grave face
you nurture and lace!
just like a perfect prophet,
you tell the old tale perfect
Then, he began and so begun the young old man:
There was wind and there was rain.
A combination of which lead to a great pain!
In the noble land for us now to learn
There was also thunder
and a terrible lightning
which sounded like a band beating
that is asunder
The earth and the forest of onidundun
shook and shrieked in this moon
the animals in the forest were all afraid
they were all scared just like a stooge-maid
Because there was no sunlight
not even a moon, nor a star
that could bring light
therefore light rays was far
This went on and on
for many good days
so that the whole land mourn.
in a darkness lawn
The animals could not move
not even an inch
of their beautiful hoof
as if they had a pinch
Talk less of the bloody mankind
who is a born-coward
if I may say of one stupid kind
he could not utter a word
He just sat and moaned
with the beautiful wind
The plants and trees remained
deaf -and-dumb
all was dead
save for the thunder
and its roaring noises which care to ponder
even when we are on our bed
It was this dark night
whose depth you could never measure
its solid blackness
which lets not the pierce of light through its deepest darkness
neither you nor i even with or without pleasure
could ever conceive with our mountainous might
But in its deepest darkness
a tree rose
just shooting up like a rose
yes in the veil of its cool calmness
At first it was a very small tree
but it later grew up and became the hive of a bee
finding a way through the thick darkness
it wanted to reach the light brightness
It aimed to reach the light and even the piercing sun
Alas! the tree had life
Then immediately the sun had life
and so rise the son
So every son of the soil
had to come out in the sun to toil
Then the dark night melted away
to find it other way
When the light shone
with a warmth shun
that gave life and activity
to all things with every longevity
Then the animals stopped wondering
and then they started wandering
they no longer moan but gave homage
to the creator of this village
Then the men who felt the hurt and the pain
were all taken away in the new reign
by the sudden succor
brought by the life and the sun with great vigor
Then the village of onidundun
began its history in a new moon
as further brother-trees
began to grow and they made the histories.
There and then onidundun village was given birth
This is the story we would tell it to our death.
