Tips on Looking After RC Helicopters

Looking after Helicopters is not an easy task as some people may claim. It requires the right knowledge and expertise otherwise you may end up damaging the planes. Below are some of the tips that are necessary if you want your RC Helicopters to last for a long time.
• The most important and obvious tip is to make sure that you are well trained. Many people make the mistake of flying their Helicopters before they have the necessarily flying skills. This leads to their planes crashing regularly and as a result the helicopters need regular maintenance and hence do not last. Thus, make sure that you are well trained before you attempt to fly your precious RC Helicopter.
• Visit helicopter maintenance experts. This is one of the best ways that you can look after your plane. Always ensure that you are visiting an RC Helicopter maintenance workshop or other similar places regularly. Do not make the mistake of trying to maintain the planes yourself. One of the benefits of choosing to place your helicopter in the hands of an expert is that he knows how to deal with any issues that may arise.
• Make a habit of checking that the important parts of your aircraft are working properly. The most crucial parts of an RC Helicopter include tail rotor and rotor head. Ensuring that these parts are working well will greatly help in your plane being more durable.
Why should you look after your RC Helicopter?
The first benefit of looking after your helicopter is durability. Well maintained airplanes last longer than those that are not well looked after. This means that you need to regularly check your plane for any small issues that may arise as failure to do so results in bigger and more serious problems that are difficult to deal with. Thus, make sure that you visit Helicopter maintenance experts frequently for the durability of your aircraft.
Another reason why you should take care of your plane is enjoyment. As any other hobby, RC Helicopters are there for the increased enjoyment of hobbyists; by providing the necessary fun that people who like to fly seek. However, this enjoyment becomes a nightmare if the planes frequently breakdown or lose bolts and nuts whenever you fly them. Such incidences will definitely compromise on your fun and thus the hobby becomes less and less enjoyable than before. Hence, make sure that you look after your aircraft well to prevent this.
Looking after your Helicopter is also great as it develops in you a sense of accomplishment. By ensuring that all aspects of your plane are working efficiently, you develop a sense of responsible ownership that leads to a feeling of accomplishment.
Therefore, it is crucial that you look after your RC Helicopter well as this has a lot of benefits. Following the tips mentioned in this article will be very helpful to you as you develop as a flying expert in this great hobby of flying Helicopters.

Becoming Fearless in Tonga Tapu

In an environment, like the US, where the athlete and the actor are rewarded endlessly, where reality television and behaving with the most contentious personality, gets carte blanche, more exposure and ultimately, more money, the value system appears to be money, self, looks- particularly in SD, tan and fit, how connected we are, social media exposure - being awesome on Facebook, on all the time, and being a shrewd business person... It's competitive, it's expensive to live here, it is so highly desired to be here, it is called "America's Finest City," businesses take notice of go getters, aggressives, contentious, potential dates look at the fit tan upbeat, It's a lot to juggle and maintain, to thrive in San Diego.
There is another society, that has an entirely different way of being. Their hierarchical pyramid is an inverse of what I just listed. Their value system is flipped completely upside down - Family, God, Other, Self, Money (maybe). This is a society in which I lived, across the globe, alone, on a tiny island in the south pacific, the island of Tonga Tapu.
Heading out there, to the unknown, I was terrified.
In living with the Tongan people, day in and day out, I regularly experienced the sense of "this is how it's supposed to be... it felt profoundly human and right." Now THIS is what I'm talking about! It was freedom, untethered by fear.
I worked there, running a youth treatment program, with 9 Tongan staff under me. The big strapping Tongan men, regularly prayed for the kids, they regularly hugged the kids, and regularly told the kids they loved them. In all of my work in youth treatment programs, here, in the US, I'd never seen that. I don't consider myself a religious person, but I figure additional coverage is welcome. We also have laws about touching children, here.
In addition, I observed these men periodically crying, crying for the kids, for their families, for their beliefs. I observed them openly holding hands. This was different, touching, special. Raw. Real. Human. Unedited expression. Authentic. As we were meant to be. Fearless.
At the end of our work together, my second in command gave me the most touching letter. He addressed it "to my hero" and shared his humble position, on working for me, with me, with the kids, which sounded like strength to me, in all of it's openness.
In contrast, in SD, particularly in the dating world, I've observed that flash smile and "on all the time" on Facebook is the coin of the realm. He who gets attached, shows his vulnerability or underbelly or who cries... loses. Fun. Upbeat. Positive. Tan. Fit. Armored up. Wins.
The Tongan people are generous with their resources. I observed them literally giving the shirts off their backs, when one asked or expressed want. They open their homes to strangers and anyone who enters gets fed. The irony in this is some of the homes are wooden, on stilts, with no television. Yet the resources are there and the fear of draining them, is not. They climb trees to get the coconuts for you or wade through the field to get bananas, or throw a makeshift fishing line in the water to catch fish. If hungry, they feed each other. I observed laughter in the generosity, together. Not want. Not scarcity. It's as if it made them RICHER. In San Diego, many hungry and in need, sleep on the street and bars are on the windows, keeping out the unwanted and the feared.
The crime rate is almost zero, in Tonga.
The Tongan people are generous with their families. I learned of these families taking care of their siblings, through giving a childless family member one of their own infant babies. One of my white friends and her husband, who were also childless, experienced this, as well, not for pay, not surrogacy. They quite literally take care of each other.
The power in encountering humanity at this level, still affects me, to this day, and it's been 7 years. I almost didn't leave Tonga, but walked away a different person. I still tear up, when I think of that letter. I still get inspired, when I think of what society could be, and if our values hierarchy were inverted. For those simple people to affect me all the way here in Southern California, enough to desire to passionately share this, years later, I say they are doing something right and it's powerful.
When you feel dissatisfied, as if things aren't as they were meant to be, there may be a reason! I encourage you to listen to that part of you give it credibility, think on this alternate society, that's doing something right - without the money, the contentious reality TV attitudes, without the flash smile on Facebook - recognize that even a drop of living in this alternative manner, can have an unbelievable amount of impact, years down the road, on people you may not even realize you are affecting.

Glass Beads Can Add Appeal to Vases and Decorative Bowls

You are cleaning out cupboards and come up with several vases and bowls that are simply boring. Have you ever thought of being crafty and using glass beads to make your objects more interesting?
How do you think that tiny glass bead was made? The art was developed hundreds of years ago where they were made individually using a mandrel, a wire rod that can withstand heat. Today, thanks to modern manufacturing processes; glass beads are mass produced using high safety standards. All of this for us to enjoy these beads in home projects like vases and decorative bowls.
In your area you may have a craft store where you can buy in bulk vases or bowls that are plain where you get some at a low cost and make gifts for birthdays, holidays, or use in your own home.
Glass beads are fun and easy to work with. Projects are endless but let us look at making a simple wedding centerpiece.
Supplies Needed for Simple Wedding Centerpiece
• Glass arranging beads - come in many colors
• Cylinder vase or square shaped clear object
• Fill about ½ up the vase
• Add water for flowers
• Start arranging flowers!
• Keep balance and into a nice round dome
You don't need a lot of skill to work with these beads, and you can in this particular project, not make a mistake. Twenty to thirty different flowers can be arranged and you won't need to purchase greenery. You can vary your beads' colour for a beautiful centerpiece with layers. The water will shimmer off the beads and add dramatic appeal on the table.
With glass beads, you can also match a décor color or integrate one painlessly. Ever make a beaded glass bowl? You will need some glue.
Supplies Needed for a Simple Glass Beaded Bowl
• Buy a bowl or use one you have
• Vinegar for washing the beads and the bowl
• Rubber gloves
• Glue for glass or clear glue used in aquariums
Wash the bowl and beads and make sure they are dry. Place your beads in 'pools' of the same kind. Open the window for ventilation and work on a surface that is sturdy and level. Drop glue on the glass and press the glass bead into the glue. Work one glass bead at a time. As you go along, remove any excess glue with a cloth that is lint free while glue. Just keep following the procedure. You can take a break and come back to the project or you can do all in one sitting.
Before you select how to utilize beads for more projects, go online and visit vendors who deal strictly in beads. Wide and varied selections are available. One of the things we notice the most when we walk into a room is glass as it shimmers and stands out with light. Using glass beads for a vase or decorative bowl will be unique and you are creating heirlooms along the way!
There are many ways to improve those boring vases that many people store away in cupboards. This article looks at how you can use glass beads to make any plain vase more appealing.

The Shirley Temple Con Man - A Short Story

We all know the perfect Brat, the one that wraps the world around his or her finger at an early age with the flip of a curl, the batting of eyelashes or the perfectly timed hug. Some kids are better con artists than millionaire pyramid scam operators. This is a story about just such a child, the apple of her Mother's eye, and the bane of her Mother's existence.
Margaret looked at the clock desperately hoping for some good news. The clock mocked her with its blinking red digital numbers:
7:45... 7:45... 7:45... 7:45...
It was quarter of eight in the morning and Margaret was officially running late. She still had to get Sara, her four-year old, dressed before dropping her off at the Babysitter's. Margaret was already in a foul mood, and the day was just starting. She had been up all night with bad menstrual cramps. It was the worst she ever endured. She was still pissed off at Jim, her ex-husband, who refused to give her more money for Sara's ballet lessons, and he was late on his alimony check anyway. She knew it was going to be another one of those F $@#&* days.
Margaret doubled over with the nagging pains that spread throughout her belly and down her lower back."Oh my God," she cried, as the pain was unbearable, "where are my Mydols?" She searched her drawers and the medicine chest. "Ah there it is." I need a smoke. Damn, I'm out of cigarettes."
"Sara?... will you hurry up!" Margaret screamed. "Mommy is going to be late. Don't forget to wear that new red blouse I bought you yesterday."
"I don't like it." Sara, half crying, yelled back.
"I thought Red was your favorite color?" Margaret responded. Sara started to throw a hissy fit and refused to dress.
"Fine, then wear the pink one with those cute little hearts on it, you like pink, right?"
Margaret put her hands to her head as she sat at the table muttering to herself. "I don't believe this, it's already 8:00 am and I'm still here. I need a smoke real bad." she fumed, realizing she didn't have any smokes.
Sara started to throw another hissy fit. Margaret couldn't stand it anymore and began cursing under her breath. She was in no mood for this, even though the menstrual pain was subsiding a bit. She looked at her adorable daughter, with her Shirley Temple style curly hair, dimpled cheeks, and wondered where she went wrong?
"Now what's the matter, Sara.?" she asked as she heard her daughter whining.
" I don't want to go to Mrs. Brown, she's so boring," Sara screamed. "I don't like her. Why can't I come with you?"
"I explained this to you yesterday, honey, Mommy has to go to work and will be home later today when she's done." she responded.
Margaret was glad that she had Mrs. Brown. She had scored with Mrs. Brown because she was much cheaper than the daycare service. She had to cut corners some how in order to make the payments on her Mercedes-Benz. Mrs. Brown, a widow, was babysitting other children as well. Margaret thought Mrs. Brown seemed like a sweet lady with a lot of patience, especially when dealing with Sara. Yet Margaret was annoyed with Mrs. Brown's remark that Sara didn't play well with the other kids. "I think your daughter needs to improve her social skills." Mrs. Brown had told Margaret.
"She is acting very aggressively with the toys, taking them away from the other children, saying they are hers. She even pushed one of the other kids, and then banged a toy on the floor until it broke." Margaret bit her tongue, not wanting to make waves. She excused Sara's behavior, mentioning to Mrs. Brown that Sara was an only child from a broken home who found it hard to interact with other children. She promised Mrs. Brown that, with time, Sara would get better.
Margaret kept staring at the clock as Sarah continued whining and throwing hissy fits. Margaret was at her wits' end, she had to be on time for a meeting with a new client. This meeting could mean an important contract with a big bonus in it for her, plus a VP position if she could pull it off. She turned to Sarah and said. "If you hurry up and get dressed, Mommy will buy you that pretty doll that you like so much."
Sara immediately shut up and smiled, replying in her sweet "I'm-getting-something' little voice, "Mommy can you get me a new carriage too? I don't like the one she has now. It's ugly."
At this point Margaret would agree to anything just to shut Sara up and get her moving.
"Yes, Sara, your birthday is coming up next week and I will get it for you then." Sara started to whine again, jumping up and down because she didn't get her way right away. Margaret's patience was shot, so she said, "Okay, when I come home tonight you'll have your pretty doll and carriage too."
"Promise?" Sara asked.
"Yes, sweetie, I promise."
Sara hugged her mother and gave her a kiss. "Thank you Mommy, you're the best Mommy anyone can have." Margaret put the cell phone to her ear, relieved, and hugged her daughter back.
Sara, sitting quietly in the car, looked at her Mom and smiled, saying to herself, 'It worked.'

5 Easy Steps to Making Awesome Model Train Layouts

A Beginners guide making AWESOME model train layouts in 5 Steps
Step 1
Nothing of any value ever came easy! It's all about the effort! I make my living in computers... my love and my escape is trains. In the computer business we have a saying "garbage in - garbage out" What do I mean? It comes down to really deciding that you want to make something of merit. Something to be proud of and something that you are going to be really dedicated to doing AND FINISHING. It's one thing to admire a railway layout; it's a whole other thing to create one. You envision, and then you organize your thoughts. You plan and research, plan some more and do some revising along the way. Then you have a road map so to speak. You have a concrete, written down idea of what you want and how you are going to go about achieving it. Then you are ready to start a very exciting project for your new found construction skills in putting bits of pieces together into one breathtaking layout the world has yet to see!
Step 2
"But wait! Hold On!" you say. "That's easy for you, you've done this before. I'm a beginner. What's the nitty gritty? How do you start?" Consider all the elements. This is hard at first for beginners. There are things that have to be given enough attention - like where is this going to be placed? Is it a permanent part of the room - like a pool table or sofa? Do I have to move it around like that fold-away ping-ping table or my wife's message table (what a mistake that was!)? Face it, you didn't think about that did you? How big will it be? One sheet of plywood is 4 feet by eight feet. Am I using one sheet, only half a sheet, am I going for broke and using two sheets in an "L" configuration? How solid is my marriage? Oh yeah, that's a different article! Will my layout have levels? This concept alone is a very advanced one and tends to work itself out visually as mountains and valleys when finished. Are you starting to get the idea here? Are you getting a feel for ground zero yet? The overall design of the layout, materials to be used and the general impact that a builder is working towards is usually the first step in the design process. Now before we leave this step I want to give you the advice of a pro -"K.I.S.S. keep it simple, sweetheart!" Before you go biting off more than you can chew, start off small, modest. Jump in at the shallow end of the pool. It will be better to plan a project you can finish and ramp up the next one than to get frustrated half way through, quit, never finish and never try again. Think about that before moving on.
Step 3
Plan every detail. When doing this, it is important to focus not only on building but on making your project as visually stunning as your skill level will allow. For this you can not only research what other model railroaders have done before you but take queues from wildlife magazines, favorite photos and paintings, picture books, travel books... well you get the idea. The avenues of inspiration are limitless! You will be amply rewarded for the effort and imagination that you put in to things at this point. It is definitely the icing on the cake, shall we say! This part of the design process does not only involve how the layout will ultimately look but should also include estimations of supplies, materials; measurement of the layout substrate as well as track runs. Scales and details on how the trains will be made to run smoothly on their tracks come into play here also. The more you plan at this stage and the more complete your plan is in the end, the less frustration you will encounter during your build and the less wasted material you will have in the end. The old adage here applies " measure twice, cut once."
Step 4
Keep in mind your skill levels and any special knowledge you have of things like engineering, model making, art, wood working, plastering, fiber glassing and even electrical wiring to make everything not only beautiful, but also functional. It is important to be attentive about the precise detail of every single piece that is incorporated in the layout. A single nail or metal strap or bolt out of place or positioned in the wrong area can make or break the entire project. At the very least, it will make your life a misery! The key to avoiding this kind of aggravation is "knowing" and "proper planning". After a while in the hobby and in building layouts, things become much easier and fun to do as all this stuff becomes "second nature".
Step 5
Develop your scenery with an eye to realism. That old Troll doll or Smurf figure may be kind'a fun but you won't find one in the real world! Also, mis-scaled toy cars that are half the size of your trains really don't add to the realism factor... To make the model railway layout even more stunning it is important to give special attention to the scenery. Making a model railway requires an eye for the finest of details. It should appear just the way it is in nature - in the world we live in. That is the yardstick by which your work is measured. The key can be found in the materials that are used and in the finish given to each piece. Our viewers will hardly appreciate the hard work of our layout even if the trains are running flawlessly and fast, if everything looks kind'a off - just not quite right... The illusion must be built in nice, beautiful and consistent to itself.
So there you have it. 5 easy, simple, short and fun steps to making truly AWESOME model railway layouts and the best part is that if you follow all of them you are guaranteed to end up with a pieces that is not only breathtaking but will give you limitless amounts of pride and pleasure.

Rehearsal Dinner Etiquette and More

So you are ready for your big day following the rehearsal dinner. Your date is set, and your reception hall is booked. You have your dress picked out, and the wedding party is in place. This pre-wedding bash has been around for years and is always after the wedding rehearsal. There are some etiquette issues that you may want to think about beforehand though.
Who Pays for This
Etiquette has it that the parents of the groom traditionally pay for this shindig. It has always been said that this is the event in which the mother of the groom shows off in way stating that she knows a thing or two about how to entertain. However, that is not always the case nowadays. More and more couples are paying for their own weddings today or both families are sharing wedding expenses.
Who Is Invited?
Heck you can invite the whole town if you want. However, realistically those who are invited are those who will be part of the wedding ceremony. This includes the bridesmaids, ushers, maid of honor, best man, flower girl and ring bearer. You can also include the wedding officiate and immediate family and close friends. You want to think about the type of wedding you are having as well since this will also dictate who gets invited. For instance, Jewish tradition has it that anyone who is on the guest list for the wedding can be invited to this party as well.
When Should This Be Planned?
You should really plan your rehearsal dinner as soon as you are able to make the reservations. Generally you should plan this about three or four months in advance. By that time you will have a good idea of who will be in your wedding party and what your guest list will look like. If you are having a Saturday wedding, these festivities should be booked for a Thursday night if possible.
Where Should This Take Place?
The best location would be at a restaurant as this is the norm. But you can always deviate and host this event at a unique location. Select a place that is near your ceremony site so that it is more convenient for your guests. Make sure that you reserve a private room if possible.
When Do The Invites Get Sent?
As a general rule, invites are mailed out about a month before the dinner takes place. They are always sent out after the wedding invitations. You never ever want to put the wedding invitations in with the invites for the rehearsal dinner. Even though they are part of the wedding festivities, they really are two separate events.
Rehearsal dinner is a great time to relax and enjoy your family and friends before your big day!
Wherever you are planning your wedding, you need the kind of rehearsal dinner New Orleans excels at. Don't settle for ordinary; go Nola and visit http://www.auduboninstitute.org.

When We Design Ads, Talk With Prospects, Or Write Copy, We Are Trying To Move This Person, Right?

The second decade of the 21st century is most likely the most competitive one since Madison Avenue style advertising transformed the corporate world back in the heyday of television and magazine advertising typified by the quintessential ad: The Marlboro Man.
No words were necessary, the image of manliness conveyed all that was necessary to cause young men and women of the 60's and 70's to light up by the hundreds of thousands. Strangely, the appeal was to both men and women. The power of this ad lies in its wordless appeal to many levels.
And that is exactly what our copy, our advertisements, our conversations need to do: appeal to the unconscious mind of our customer. We want to move our customer from her unengaged, passive state to one of action, of making a decision... now.
How?
We need clear and congruent messages so that the unconscious mind of our customer can do what it is programmed to do.
Jay Levinson reminds of several critical steps in the mind of a customer looking to purchase a product.
  1. Our customer, like us, operates mostly at an unconscious level.
  2. That means she thinks with lightning speed.
  3. And on many levels.
  4. Many, perhaps, most, of these levels are composed more of emotion than of the linear, logical process we call thinking.
  5. By the time we push the buy now button, we process of making the decision differs in accordance with our personality but the decision itself is generally one driven by emotion.
  6. And it's this type of emotion or unconscious thinking, that we need to trigger by our voice, our words and our copy:
    • This looks right.
    • I think I can trust this person.
    • Just do it, I've analyzed this enough.
    • I like this, it will help me.
    • I think this is a fit.

Getting Married in Switzerland and Looking for the Right Wedding DJ

Having a Switzerland wedding can provide you the option to get married in one of the most beautiful places in the world. You can choose to have your wedding ceremony in the Alps, at the Heidegg Castle, overlooking beautiful Lake Lucerne, on a glacier on Mount Titlis or even near Zermatt or Berne. Which place you even choose - Switzerland has so many beautiful spots.
Choosing a wedding dj is one of the most important parts of the wedding day. The wedding DJ is the one who will have your guests up and dancing and making sure they are having a great time at your reception. You want to ask friends and family members who may have recently gotten married for referrals.
Another way to find a great DJ for your wedding is to attend bridal fairs and speak to some DJ's. Many will be happy to provide you with cds or download links of dj sets they have done.
Your ultimate goal is to choose a DJ that are professional and entertaining as well. They should have the right mix of music that are tailored to your needs and tastes. The bride and groom should always come first.
Almost as important as the DJ himself is the equipment. The DJ should have the best equipment so the music sounds amazing. The DJ should handle everything from the lighting to the announcements to the sound system.
The music is an important part of the reception because it takes up most of the reception. Whether you choose to have music from the 60's, 70's,, the disco era or the hair bands of the 80's, your wedding DJ should always tailor the music around you and your guests. You are the conductor - the dj has to be the orchestra.
A wedding is often considered to be one of the most important days in a woman's life. According to a survey from St. Louis Bride & Groom Magazine, 78 percent of the brides say they would have made their entertainment their HIGHEST priority. They were surveyed a week after their wedding.
In that same survey, 100 percent of the brides said they would have spent more on entertainment and 65 percent of the couples who hired a band said if they had to do it over, they'd have hired a DJ.
Thinking of staging your own music with an iPod? Consider this:
• iPods cannot read the mood of the guests.
• iPods cannot speak to the guests.
• iPods cannot direct activities.
• iPods do not have the ability to set up sound systems nor have expertise on how to run them.
A DJ brings his own sound system and sets it up and runs it. This leaves you free to enjoy your wedding reception. You don't have to worry about what song is playing, what's next in the queue and whether or not something has been played more than once.
Compared to a band, a DJ brings far more music to the event. Most bands have a repertoire of 50 to 200 songs. A DJ brings thousands.
If you have limited space, the band is going to make you even that much more cramped. A DJ needs a table to set up his deck and a place for speakers, about as much personal. A band takes up space.
A live band also puts their own interpretation on songs. What may be someone's favorite song could have a stellar performance by a live band or it could be a bomb. The DJ, with access to the original artist's recording, can play what the people want to hear.
